COACH

“Boundaries are the distance at which I can love you and me simultaneously. Boundaries give us the space to do the work of loving ourselves.”

Creative
Coach

I’ve been working as a coach, teacher, mentor and facilitator since teaching high school students how to make films in art school. Using an embodied approach, I help people find their way back to a creative practice, expand or change careers, dust off a buried dream of taking voice lessons, write a draft of a memoir while infusing more sustenance, connection, humor, balance, compassion into their routines and lives.

I start from a place of wholeness, nothing needs to be “fixed”.

Like a kind and steady personal trainer, I help shed light on blind spots and bring more movement and play into a person’s life.

Having worked in the arts most of my life, I specialize in working with artists, performers, filmmakers and writers to help them expand on an idea, move through blocks, deepen their relationship to their stories, navigate the stage, trust their instincts, drop into their bodies, and build support practices that help them make their work.

My coaching philosophy developed early.

My grandmother Sally Romayne, a junior high school art teacher and painter,  instilled in me everyone is creative and deserves a supportive space to explore their own intuitive instincts.

This inspired my creative and supportive coaching style, to encourage others to listen to their gut instincts and dream big  –

 defined on their own terms.

I believe human beings have strengths that can be harnessed toward healing and purpose, no matter what challenges they've faced.

I know it works because it worked for me.

Art Saved My Life.

On the topic of starting new hobbies…

I live in Southern California -  I’m learning to surf and do stand-up comedy,  which as it turns out, are pretty much the same thing.

“The water is different every week and you’re different every week,”

said Elizabeth Sale, one of the participants in Surf Sister Sessions,

a surf therapy program run by Groundswell Community Project.

“No matter what was going on in my work,

I could show up,

I could share

and feel the sort of communal connective tissue.”
